MOMENTS OF SINKING

‘Moment of sinking’ dives into my time spent in rest and recoup, that tuning into yourself and letting the world quieten down. It was birthed post-graduating in 2020, mid-pandemic, and at the start of my freelance career, I was overwhelmed not only by the inevitable changes in life but also by my health deteriorating. I needed space and reflection. 

 

Now I say sinking, 

Not drowning

Or flailing

Or feeling weighed down, okay? 

I say sinking 

Like you step into a tub of golden honey

Or onto a mattress of solace and safety

It’s a pulling away from loud brashness and into a refuge.

It is an opportunity for your body to sweetly hum on a frequency of peace, to let go and simply exist.
